Questions about sports massage
How long is a session?
Sessions run 15 to 90 minutes. Before an event we keep it to 30 or 45; after one, 60 or 90.
What do I wear?
Shorts or loose athletic clothes you can move in; for leg work, shorts that slide up. You are covered by a sheet or towel the whole time, and whatever you keep on, we work around.
Am I covered the whole time?
Yes. Only the part we are working on is uncovered, and it is covered again when we move on.
Can I stop?
Yes, at any time and for any reason. You can pause, change position or end the session, and we stop right away.
How do I set the pressure?
Before we start we ask about pressure and any area to leave alone. Tell us at any time to go lighter or firmer.
How close to my event should I book?
A short pre-event session fits one to three days before. Book the longer, slower session for the day after. We would not book the morning of a start.
What if I am ill, injured or pregnant?
If you are unwell, tell us and we will move your session. If you are pregnant, have had surgery or are being seen about an injury, ask your doctor or other provider before booking, and tell your therapist at the start. We do not diagnose.
Should I tip?
Tipping is optional. You can add it when you pay or hand it to your therapist.
What is your cancellation policy?
Please give us 24 hours to move or cancel. If your event is called off or you are ill, tell us and we will move your session. The details are on the policies page.
How does pricing work?
The price is set by the length of the session and the therapist, and the booking page shows it before you confirm. The page on how pricing works has the rest.
